The price of a cup of coffee was $2.65 yesterday. today, the price fell to $2.50 . find the percentage decrease. round your answer to the nearest tenth of a percent.

We must find the difference between prices. $2.65 - $2.50 = $0.15. Now we need to calculate what percent $0.15 is of $2.65. It is 5.7%! The price decreased, so it is a 5.7% decrease!

Solve for w. 2w=12-4w Simplify your answer as much as possible.

So we have an equation:
2w=12-4w
Firstly, let's simplify, and divide all terms by 2:
w=6-2w
Now, we add 2w over to the other side:
3w=6
And finally, we divide both sides by 3:
w=2

Mrs. Donley's math class has a total of 25 students. On Friday, the class was given an eight question quiz on fractions. The number of incorrect answers given by the students is shown below. Incorrect Answers Number of Students 0 5 1 7 2 4 3 6 4 2 5 1 What is the relative frequency of students that missed 1 question on the quiz? A. 0.28 B. 0.48 C. 0.35

You need to find the amount of students who missed one question, and divide that by the total number. If you sum all the students, you find that there are 25 students. From the chart, 7 missed 1 question, therefore the solution would be 7/25, which is 0.28, or A.

A. 0.28

Which of the following ordered pairs corresponds to an arrow on a mapping diagram that starts at 4 and ends at 1? Map Diagram: Input 1 2 3 4 5 Output 1 2 3 4 5 The arrow points from 4 under input to 1 under output. Answer Choices are: A. (1, 1) B. (1, 4) C. (4, 1) D. (4, 4)

Input options represent first number in ordered pair and output options represent second number in ordered pair.

We can see that arrow starts from 4 and is pointing to 1 which means:
first number is 4 and second is 1

Ordered pair is:
(4,1)

Which answer describes the type of sequence? −99, −88, −66, −55, ... A. arithmetic B. neither arithmetic nor geometric C. geometric

Here, Geometric ratio, r = -88/-99 or -66/-88 which is 8/9 or 6/8. As they are not equal, it is not a geometric.

Now, Arithmetic difference, d = -88-(-99) or -66-(-88) which is 11 or 22. As they are not equal, it is not a Arithmetic.

So, it's neither an Arithmetic nor a Geometric.

Option B is your answer!

Solve cos^2x + 2cosx + 1 = 0 for x over the interval [0, 2pi ). Can someone please give me a step by step answer. I don't understand at all.

Cos²x+2cos x+1=0

We have to do a change of variable.

cos x=t

Then, we have the next square equation.

t²+2t+1=0

We solve this square equation:

t=[-2⁺₋√(4-4)]/2=-1
 if cos x=t  then we have that:

cos x=-1
x=cos⁻¹ -1= π radians    or    180º.

Answer: x=π  (in radians)  or    x=180º   (in degrees).

Jordan and Jake each work during the summer. Jordan earns $9 per hour at her job. Jordan also gets a $10 weekly allowance. Jordan displayed her earnings in a table. Hours: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Earnings: 10 19 28 37 46 55 64 73 82 Jake earns $6.50 per hour at his job. Jake also gets a $15 weekly allowance. Jake displayed his earnings in a graph. How many hours will it take for Jordan and Jake to earn the same amount of money? (I POSTED THIS ANSWER BEFORE BUT IT NEVER GOT ANSWERED AND I REALLY NEED IT)

Answer:

It will take 2 hours for Jordan and Jake to earn the same amount of money

Step-by-step explanation:

Jordan earns $9 per hour

Let he worked for x hours

So, he earned in x hours = 9x

Jordan also gets a $10 weekly allowance.

So, his total earning in x hours = 10+9x

Jake earns $6.50 per hour at his job.

Let he worked for x hours

So, he earned in x hours = 6.50x

Jake also gets a $15 weekly allowance.

So, his total earning in x hours = 15+6.50x

Now to know How many hours will it take for Jordan and Jake to earn the same amount of money

10+9x=15+6.50x

9x-6.5x=15-10

2.5x=5

x=\frac{5}{2.5}

[tex]x=2/tex]

Hence it will take 2 hours for Jordan and Jake to earn the same amount of money

A student reads 2⁄5 of a book in 45 minutes. How much of the book will be read if the student reads at the same speed for 70 minutes? Write your answer as a fraction of a book

To start, determine the amount of time needed to finish the book. Do this by multiplying the amount read at 45 minutes by the total time to read the book (x) and setting it equal to the time read, 45 minutes. This gives you (2/5)x=45. Next, solve for x. (2/5)x=45, multiply both sides by 5, 2x=225, divide both sides by 2, x=225/2 minutes to read the whole book. Now, divide your new time, 70 minutes, by the total time to read a whole book. This gives you 70/(225/2), which you would multiply the top by the reciprocal of the bottom, giving you 70*(2/225), now, you multiply the numerators by each other and the denominators by eath other, getting (70*2)/(1*225)=140/225. Now, you simplify, first by dividing each by 5, 28/45, which is the most simplified it could be. This makes your answer 28/45 of the book read in 70 minutes.

If you can buy 1⁄3 of a pound of turkey for 4 dollars, how much can you purchase for 10 dollars? Write your answer as a fraction of a pound.

Answer:

\frac{5}{6} pound of turkey you purchase for 10 dollars

Step-by-step explanation:

Unit rate defined as the rates are expressed as a quantity 1 such as 3 meter per second or 4 miles per hour.

As per the statement:

If you can buy 1⁄3 of a pound of turkey for 4 dollars

by definition of unit rate we have;

\text{Unit rate per dollars} = \frac{\frac{1}{3} }{4} = \frac{1}{12} pound of turkey.

We have to find how much can you purchase for 10 dollars.

\text{Weight of turkey for 10 dollars} = \text{Unit rate per dollars} \times 10

\text{Weight of turkey for 10 dollars}=\frac{1}{12} \times 10 = \frac{5}{6} pound

Therefore, \frac{5}{6} pound of turkey you purchase for 10 dollars

Find the volume of the composite figure ( also I'm not going to redo this question becuase, u should be able to zoom in) Ok, please help me answer 1-6 DUE ON MONDAY! Also I have to do the review!

I can answer only from 1 to 4 since idk how to do number 5 and the picture is missing part of number 6.
1) would be 12 since the bottom block would be 4*2*1 (8) and then 2*2*1 would be 4. 4+8= 12 cubic inch.

2) You did it correctly!

3) 6*3*1=18 and 7*1*3=21 21+18 is 39 cubic inch.

4) 6*4*12= 288 and 8*4*4= 128 128+288= 416 cubic ft
I am like 98% I did it correctly but sometimes I have a mistake so... yeah hope it helps!
