The following graph shows the demand curve for a group of consumers in the U.S. market (blue line) for Blu-ray players. The market price of a Blu-ray player is shown by the black horizontal line at $150. Each rectangle you can place on the following graph corresponds to a particular buyer in this market: orange (square symbols) for Antonio, green (triangle symbols) for Caroline, purple (diamond symbols) for Dmitri, tan (dash symbols) for Frances, and blue (circle symbols) for Jake. Use the rectangles to shade the areas representing consumer surplus for each person who is willing and able to purchase a Blu-ray player at a market price of $150. (Note: If a person will not purchase a Blu-ray player at the market price, indicate this by leaving his or her rectangle in its original position on the palette.

Suppose the market price of a Blu-ray player increases to $250.
Use the rectangles once again to shade the areas representing consumer surplus for each person who is willing and able to purchase a Blu-ray player at the new market price:
orange (square symbols) for Antonio
Green (triangle symbols) for Caroline
Purple (diamond symbols) for Dmitri,
Tan (dash symbols) for Frances,
and
Blue (circle symbols) for Jake.
If a person will not purchase a Blu-ray player at the new market price, indicate this by leaving his or her rectangle in its original position on the palette.

In the United States, public land is defined as the terrains within a nation that are held in trust by the government in benefit of the residents of said nation. The control and administration of these lands, which really belong to the people at large, fall on the hands of the government at the federal, state, city and county levels. As such, agencies like the Bureau of Land Management, the United States National Park Service, among other institutions, are entrusted with all the details pertaining to management and administration of these public lands. From all the options given in this question, the one that is NOT true concerning the use of public land is B, unprotected lands exist inside federal parks. This is because almost from the beginning, it was established that be it through purchase or through forceful taking, or settlement, lands that are established as a monument, meaning, establishing a park, especially at the federal level, are under the protection of the government.

Which of the following is the most likely reason that a population of mice in a farming area suddenly increases A.more mice immigrate from neighboring areas B.fewer mice emigrate to neighboring areas C.more food is availble as grain is harvested D.more nesting space is availble as new barns are constructed

The answer is: C.More food is available as grain is harvested

As more food exist in a certain area, the survivability rate of organisms that could live off that food would be increase. This would lead to a rise in the number of population.

One thing that the farmers can do to address this while saving their products is by introducing the mices' natural predators to the field (such as cats or non-poisonous snakes)

Describe what happens yo water particles when ice melts.

The particles or atoms change in speed and distance with each state. For a Solid, the particles are really close together and only vibrate in place. For a Liquid they are more spread apart and they vibrate and bounce off each other because there is more room- there are also less particles than a solid. For a gas the particles are very spread out and are bouncing around like bullets there are a lot fewer particles.

So for Melted Ice (water) It is a liquid, so the particles have space in between them to move a little bit, and there are not as many particles because of that extra space.

How many chlorine (Cl) atoms would be in 4 molecules of salt (4 NaCl)? A = 1 B = 2 C = 3 D = 4 An atom that has the same amount of atoms of each element on both sides of the reaction obeys what law? A = law of conservation of energy B = law of conservation of mass C = law of conservation of temperature D = law of conservation of atoms If you have 5 grams of product after a chemical reaction, how many grams of reactants did you have at the start of the reaction? A = 2 B = 3 C = 4 D = 5 In the reaction, Al2O3 + 6 HCl → __________ H2O + 2AlCl3, what coefficient should be placed in front of H2O to balance the reaction? A = 1 B = 2 C = 3 D = 6 Which one of the following is an element? A = salt water B = sugar C = oxygen D = chocolate chip cookies Which of the following is an example of a homogeneous mixture? A = sand at the beach B = granite C = fruit salad D = apple juice What makes a solution a homogeneous mixture? A = There is only one component. B = It is uniform in composition. C = The mixture has multiple colors. D = The mixture contains solids and liquids. In a solution of salt and water, which component is the solute A = salt B = water C = beaker D = oxygen Which of these can be classified as a pure substance? A = solution B = compound C = heterogeneous mixture D = homogeneous mixture The following characteristics describe which of these terms? The substance is not uniform in appearance and each part of the mixture contains a combination of different ingredients in different ratios. A = heterogeneous mixtures B = homogeneous mixtures C = pure substance D = solution Which one of the following is not a compound? A = salt B = sugar C = water D = chocolate chip cookies Which one of the following is not a homogeneous mixture? A = vegetable soup B = carbonated beverages C = saline solution D = brewed tea What is the difference between a compound and a mixture? A = A mixture is a pure substance, but a compound is not. B = A compound is a pure substance, but a mixture is not. C = Mixtures are chemically combined, but compounds are not. D = You cannot separate mixtures, but you can separate compounds.

Answer 1:

Correct answer is D.

D = 4

As it is 4NaCl, it means that there are four molecules of sodium chloride so one molecule of sodium chloride contain 1 chlorine atom so 4 molecules contain 4 molecules of chlorine.

Answer 2:

Correct answer is B.

B = law of conservation of mass

As it has the same amount of atoms of each element on both sides of reaction, so it means the mass on the both sides of equation is same or conserved. So, it will obey law of conservation of mass.

Answer 3:

Correct answer is D.

D = 5

This is according to the law of conservation of mass. So, if at the start of reaction we have 5 grams of substrate we will get the 5 grams of product. Because mass remain conserved during a reaction.

Answer 4:

Correct option is C.

C = 3

In the given reaction, there should be 3 molecules of water in product to balance the equation on both sides. So, the correct option is C.

Answer 5:

Correct option is C.

C = oxygen

In the above given options only oxygen is element. All the other are not elements except Oxygen. So, the correct option is C.

Answer 6:

Correct option is D.

D = apple juice

Homogeneous mixture is the mixture that has the same composition through out the mixture. So, in the given options only apple juice is the homogeneous mixture.

Answer 7:

Correct option is B.

B = It is uniform in composition.

The significant properties of a homogeneous mixture is that it has the same chemical composition throughout the mixture. It is uniform in composition. So, option C is correct.

Answer 8:

Correct answer is A.

A = salt

In a solution of salt and water, salt is solute. Solute is the minor component of solution that dissolve in solvent.

Answer 9:

Correct option is B

B = compound

Compound is the substance made of the atoms of different elements combined together in definite proportions. So, the pure substance from the following is B.

Answer 10:

Correct option is A

A = heterogeneous mixtures

The substance that is not uniform in appearance and each part of the mixture contains a combination of different ingredients in different ratios. so this is definitely a heterogeneous mixture.

Answer 11:

Correct option is D.

D = chocolate chip cookies

All of the above are compounds except chocolate chip coolies. Salt, sugar, water are compounds but chocolate chip cookies.

Answer 12:

Correct option is D

D = brewed tea

All of the above are homogeneous mixture except Saline solution. Brewed tea is not a homogeneous mixture but a heterogeneous solution.

Answer 13:

Correct option is B.

B = A compound is a pure substance, but a mixture is not.

The one of the difference between a compound and mixture is a compound is a pure substance, but a mixture is not. So, the correct option is B
